After high school, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Washington University. I had graduated, but was unfulfilled and decided to take a continuing education art class at St Louis Community College.  I loved my art class! This led more art classes. After dabbling for a couple years, I got serious and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. When I started the BFA program, I had intended to make art a career. However, the need of dependable employment led me to a career in government service. As life happened, it went from not much time to paint, to no time to paint. This crept into a 20+ year hiatus from painting. Then, as I became eligible for early retirement, late one night I randomly caught an episode from Bob Ross's Joy of Painting series.  Bob's video ignited a small fire, and I took up painting again.  I discovered that I love the alla prima (wet on wet) technique.  I was able to retire early and inspired by nature around my home in Jefferson County Missouri, I now specialize in oil painting landscapes.  I also dabble in still life, watercolor, and photography.  You can see examples of my artwork on my website at https://www.jeffersgallery.com/ and contact me at 314-585-6197
